Diagnostics wax-ups are a valuable tool when starting a smile makeover, as they give patients a preview of what potential new teeth may look like.
How are they made?
Models are poured in white stone. A technician reduces the desired amount of tooth structure from the cast in order to create room for the wax up. White wax is added to cast showing the patient, dentist, and laboratory what is achievable in the final restoration.
What happens next?
After patient and doctor approval, the diagnostic wax-up can be converted to provisonals or a templates for success in the final restoration.
